I don’t think that is as hard as people think. My dad plays flamenco and he is really unimpressed when I mention anyone doing electric solos, I also see kids in Tokyo doing that just as well in the street.

People say that, but no one does it. That’s like the longboard vs shortboard or turbo vs NA debates that will never end. I can tap the shit out of a guitar neck fast because I’m a drummer, but I can’t connect anything on one or overlay scales like that. I also generally prefer finger-picking styles, but I’ll be damned if guys like Eddie didn’t reinvent rock guitar. The sounds available on electric add a whole new dimension too.

Yeah, there’s not a lot of original Fender left there. I’m not sure there’s another guitar model that’s been used to produce such a wide range of sounds.

Well thats why the section in Guitar Heros’ games have Facemelters as the 2nd to last one in the game. You’re trying to keep your face from being unmelted by the blistering, crazy songs Van Halen & Slayer & System of a Down made.

(I still think that lead guitarist for System of a Down has issues and a psychiatrist told him the only way to deal with it is to play guitar for the rest of his life. He’s a beast playing the guitar :P)
